As far as I can tell the cabin trunk stbd side roof joint coaming was cut a bit short to accomodate the rounded off (7/8 radius) stbd aft corner but I'd like to see photographic proof. Does anyone have a reasonably clear profile shot? This is the area I'm talking about:

Hi Jeff
I found this relatively well known photo of the ROK PT Boat shooting Rockets (SSR) at North Korea during Korean War. Jerry

Thanks Jerry, I love that shot of the rockets firing. Great details for modelers too. I'm looking for an image with the cameraman about 90 degrees to that one, I guess it would have to be from a dock or another boat. One that shows the fore & aft roof coaming cut off like I guessed at here:

Jerry and Jeff;
In that photo of PT 613-620 in ROKN service, notice the fire extinguisher mounted on the stbd cockpit shielding. Did late war ELCO's have this mount located here also? If so I need to make some for my PT 599 and PT 600 models.
Take care,

Hi Jeff,
I went back to the well again and found some photos that I obtained from the son of Alvin Hansen. He was a crewman on PT235 and then was transferred to an unknown Elco Boat in Samar. THese photos were taken in Samar around the time of the scrapping and burning of the PT Boats at Base 17 in Samar. I think these photos show what you are looking for. Jerry

Thank you Jerry, that roof coaming appears shorter than the aft face of the cabin trunk to me in those shots. Time to move on. [:-cheers-:]
