I had a chance to visit the Iwo Jima Marine Memorial statue in Arlington. It is very impressive (especially at night) and it is more so because of the size and the closeness at which you can view it. No photo does it justice.

I was there just three weeks ago on an Honor Flight from Oklahoma. Very impressive. I like the way the flag staff moves upward. All Marines should be very proud.

Nat,

I've been there at night and it is somehow more chilling and alive at night as you said! I think it is because there are no other visual distractions and you are so totally draw into the moment represented there.
