Topic: Need help with the life raft support on PT 302
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3327

Here is a photo of the life raft mounted to the charthouse of PT302. Has anyone got a photo of the whole support?

Hi Bob,
Frank already asked me for this and sorry but I don't have anything like that one shown. My guess is that it was a field expedient part made at the forward operating area by the boat crew or the Base Force? I have no other examples or drawings or photos. The ones we have on PT658 are two rounded edge blocks and nothing like the rack shown in the photo. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Bob, it looks like a simple field modification to me. In the drawings that I have from Al Ross, I don't see it as part of a factory item. Simple piece of wood attached the the charthouse, lashed down and off they went. Arthur does not remember how it was attached, but they did loose it one day.
