Ahoy there.

I'm going to radio control one of these kits, either PT-109 or PT-596.

I was wondering if any of you have done this?

If so what did you use for:

Prop shafts and prop sleeves?
Props?
Rudders?

Is it possible to use the kit props or the kit rudders?

What motors did you use? Brushless NOT an option for me.

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Well my first thought is that a 1/35 scale kit is way way to small for anything other than a very small and very calm pond. I really think you would be much better off getting one of the 1/20 scale fiberglass Elco of Higgins hulls that are for sale on e-bay and go from there. If you are determined to use the Italeri kit, all of the drive components will need to be metal and I don't know where you will find them that small. Tom at Dumas Boats might be some help there. As for the RC system, go to Tower Hobbies and search for an ultra-lite or Park Flyer system. Just make sure it is a newer 2.4 GH system. Sure hope that helps. I would hate to see you put so much work and expense into something so low in the water. One last thought. There is a guy on you-tube that put an RC system in his 596. Watch the video and then you can see if it's going to right for you.

Hi Roy.

My two 1/32 scale Lindberg PT boats (heavilly modified) run/ran very well on the waters I run/ran them on.

I traded one of them to a friend who also wanted a small RC boat.
I made for my bicycle to haul the boat(s) to and from the ponds here in town.

I just wanted to avoid the expense I had with the Italeri boat that I had when figuring out what would work well with the Lindberg boats..

Thanks and cheers from Peter
