http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3236

Looking for photos to detail PT 302. There are 2 small boxes just aft of the engine room cover ant the other to the port side. One is exhaust and the other off to the side is intake. Need photos of them. Any other detail photos would be great. Also if any one has any spare parts from left over builds and want to sell or donate, would really help out a lot. THANK'S!!!

What is needed are Italeri parts preferred. I was going to dig into a PT 596 kit but if any of you have any of these parts your not using., you would be my hero.
- Roll off torpedo racks (4)
-wheel and helm instruments and throttles.
-bitt's (4)
-chucks (4)
-vents-ammo box's
- 50 cal double and set ups, tub rings.
That's about it and I know it's wishful thinking. but if you have something laying around it would make me and Frank really, really happy. Thank you.

Ahoy there Bob.

Sorry but it looks like I won't be able to help you. :<(

I'm building my 596 kit without the rocket launchers or the 37mm auto-cannon.

I'd like to get three more of the 20mm cannons and magazines. I don't need the mount even for the one I do have.

Can you make use of my 20mm tripod mount minus the cannon?

Good luck getting those other parts.

Just a thought, you might try emailing Italeri and telling them what you're doing and see if they'll send you those parts you need. I did that with Lindberg when I wanted to rebuild one of my kits as an earlier boat. They sent me the parts i needed at no charge. Give it a try as the wirst that'll happen is you'll get no response or Italeri will say no. You have nothing to lose by asking.

Cheers from Peter

I loaned the molds I made to cast the 20mm and their tri-mounts to someone here but never got them back or I could let you use them to make more. Sorry.

Oh, I think it's your lucky day Bob. When I was making my 598 I messed up a couple of parts and the importers sent me two complete sprues as replacements. I also have quite a lot of left over brass from the Lion Roar set. If you are willing to pay postage you can have the lot for free.....

Well it looks like Christmas came early to Frank and myself this year. I've got all the parts I needed without having to rob from my own kit, or scratch build. Frank will get the Boat early. I needed the wheel and throttles but the wheels on the Higgins are different that what comes in the Italeri kit so that has to be scratch built anyway, throttles are easy to build. The guys restoring PT 305 and the posting of photos have been a great help, weather they know it or not, the timing was perfect to start a Higgins build. I'll post updates so you can see how it's going, and There shouldn't be any more begging for parts until I do a 77' Elco. I do need a few more reference photos just to make sure it's right. So far so good and THANKS!

Hi Bob,
Here are a few photos I found from PT309's old website courtesy of Bill Zolla and Jack Hughes collections. I hope they show a few details that will help. Jerry

What I'm looking for is a clear shot of the type mounting of the life raft in the photo. Also there is a little box between the front and rear port torpedo racks, on my prints it's labled intake. Thanks!
