http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3213

It's been a while sense I 've posted. I've been busy working on Frank's PT 302. Here is a slight progress report. I bought the 1/32 Higgins plans from Al Ross and had them downsized by 91.4 % to make them 1/35. Than cut the bulkheads and sideview out and glued them to 1/8' ply wood. Glued everyk thing together and covered with Bass wood sheets and Balsa blocks. Right now I'm shaping anmd measuring. Next step is laminating .015' plastic sheets on the hull.

Nice work Bob, and great foundation using Al's plans. I bet you'll like the boat so much that Frank will have to wait for the 2nd one!

What your looking at in the background is PT 41, 109, 196 and 596 in 1/72. They were shelved so I could work on the 1/35 boats so I could learn how to detail the smaller ones better, and now thanks to the knowage I've gained from the 1/35 kits, this Fourm and all of you fine folks I can finish them, if I ever get the time. I certainly got what I ask for, Thanks...

Well the plastic arived today so I started the laminating process, and it's working great. The deck is V-grove, that'll save a lot of scribingl. I'll have a plastic boat before long.

Wow! That is really a great idea! That I never thought of!. All that Evergreen Plastic sheet that seems to sit forever in my local Hobbytown store. Maybe I will use...."borrow" your idea on my PT 308 model, which is temoparily sitting on the shelf until I finish my RON 40/Miami diorama.
Thanks!
Take care,

Bob,

I like the way you've moved the depth charges further aft on your Italeri PT 109 build...to my eye, that's where they more appropriately belong.

I love it every time Bob posts photos of the build. PT-302 will take it's rightful place in "The Mosquito Fleet Exhibit", thanks to Bob's generosity.............

Calm down Frank!

I warned him to sit down when he saw the photos of the charthouse on the hull. Take it easy Frank, Christmas may be early this year. I don't think anyone will be able to say he doesn't appreciate things.

It's OK Frank you know we love you. I was going to build PT 302 from a lot of scrach built parts but I think I'm going to use the parts from a PT 596 kit and get you your boat a lot sooner. I can scratch the parts for the PT 596 when I build it, or maybe Italeri will come out with another parts kit. I hope you realize I've got a lot of projects in mind and I'm comming to you for referance material.
