http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3170

I am looking for as much information on Lt. Commander John B. Williams, who I do know served with Ron 21. In fact I have his original Silver Star Certificate and Certificate for Presidential Unit Citation. What I do not have is what boat he was on or any other pertinent information. I would love to get a photo of him as well.......................

Have a list of PT-331 personell from the late Walter Keuhn MOMM 2/c former 331 crewmember. Lt. John Ball Williams USNR is listed as having been 1st Skipper of PT-331. Also has him listed as Squadron 21 Executive Officer from 8 February 1944 to 3 October 1944.

Hope this helps

Wayne, thanks so much. It sure does help, as I just received items from his estate, so it is important to know which boat, so I can include a photo. You will be happy to know that on Sunday I am bringing plans and items for PT-61 build for Stanley. He finally finished my WWII PT BOAT RIDE ON TOY that I will be picking up. I will post photos..................

Frank and Wayne;
Is this the same officer who was originally with RON 1 at Pearl Harbor on DEC 7, 1941, known as John B. "BING" Williams?
Take care,
TED

Ted, I am not sure as I am trying to learn all I can about him. I am still trying to locate a photo of this man, so I can put it with his silver star and Ron 21 Presidential Citation.

Ted,
Different guy. John K. "Bing" Williams was in Ron's 1,4, 7, and 34. Was skipper of PT-26, Dec 7th at Pearl Harbor, skipper of PT-24 in June 4, 1942 at Midway and was CO of Ron 7's PT-134 from August 1942 to February 1944. Was an operations officer for Ron 4 and 34. Met Bing Williams at the 1993 reunion in Milwaukee, he's a big guy.
