All;
As I work on my diorama for Miami Shakedown 1944-1945, with all the other PT Boat dioramas and models, you may ask why Miami Shakedown? My answer is threefold so stay with me.
#1. I wanted to be different and lean towards the training aspect of PT Boat operations.
#2. In May 2000, my MKV Det and I, aboard MKV SOC 963 and 964(my Boat) we pulled into Jacksonville, Fla for fleetweek down there. We tied up in their downtown harbor area and we literally tied up to the back of "Hooters" for 1 week! The girls were fantastic, and they were on our boats every single night! They would also bring us all of our meals on the boat! B, L, & D! Being a PT Boat history guy, and having read most of the books, even back then I thought.....WOW! this must have been like Miami 1944-1945 for the PT Boat guys.
So there you have it, I found something in their past, that I can relate to....Fast Boats and Hot Chicks!

Take care,
TED

Ted, we are looking forward to one day seeing some photos of this special build. Don't forget to add those hooter girls to the build, bringing out those PT BOAT CREWS there meals, ha, ha.
