Does anyone know if PT 156 was converted from torpedo tubes to roll-off racks? If so when was this done? A while back Wayne Traxel sent me a side view drawing in Adobe format (puff). If anyone has this Adobe file, I would sure appreciate a copy.

Having followed the PT-157, it appears the RON-9 PTs underwent the conversion in the Fall (Sept/Oct) 1943. At that time the RON-9 PTs were doing barge busting so the use of torpedoes was no happening due to the shallow draft of barges (the torpdeo would just right under the barges) and secondly, that using expensive torpedoes against small value barges was not a good return on investment of resources.

PT-154 converted to roll-off racks at the same time as PT-157 but PT-155 had tubes as late as mid-November 1943. She ripped one off colliding with PT-154 in the middle of the night.
