Gentleman;
I got sidetracked yesterday, and started preliminary photo research on PT 195. Thanks to Wayne Traxall and the late Russ Pullano I have quite a few exellent photos of PT 195.
If any of you also decide to model a RON 12 boat, get as many photos as you can, This RON was VERY experimentive with weapons packages. I have at least one photo from PT 189(which was transferred to RON 6)-PT 196, variuos views.
One thing I noticed, RON 12 liked to remove the railings on the gun turrets, on a few, they fabricated their own smaller version, which only prohibited the gunner to shoot directly into the cockpit!
On PT 195, I don't have to worry, they removed the railings from both turrets, and had 20mm's mounted in both turrets!

Take care,
TED

The 195 boat also had the quad-50 mounted forward about that time, didn't she?

Al;
Because I am a horder, besides you guys have seen most of them because they are on the messageboard, at least all of Russ;s photos.
Will
Yes Quad .50 maxon turret from a M16, however, I think she also had at least two .50's on pipe mounts. Ron 12 never got rockets, however, Ithink they sort of changed tactics, it appears later on in the war(1944-45), they had a designated rocket equipted boat, accompany a section of boats on patrol.
Take care,

Earl;
Thank you very much! I look forward to seeing your RON 12 photos at Ormoc. Steve will probably head your way sometime in the spring.
