Hi Ted and frank,
I saw this in the RON19 "Snuffy" Cruise Book. The crew of PT235 (which includes Alvin Hanson front row right) is all wearing the Solomons Islands US Navy T-shirts! CJ was there at the time this photo was taken, maybe he has one of those old T shirts? Jerry

Same T-shirt on display in Fall River PT Boat Museum

Hi Ted,
I'm buying one of each as well. Thanks for sharing that post.

Great football game! Were you a little nervous at the end? I felt so bad for the Army quarterback.

One of those TEE SHIRTS sold on Ebay a few months ago for $995.00. I would have loved to have one for the exhibit, but I doubt any are out there now..................

Jerry: The 235 boat crew picture was taken in May, 1944 at Green Island. These boat crew pictures were taken at the time Ron 19 was decommissioned and the boats placed in Ron 20 and Ron 23. I don't know where these guys on 235 got those shirts. None of our guys had them on the 242. The guy third from the left, front row is Randolf Nagel Witt. I went all through bootcamp, torpedoschool, New Caladonia, then to Ron 19 with him.

Thanks very much for sharing that information. It's posts like that which really bring the boats and the men alive to those of us who were not there or even born yet when those photos were taken.

Cheers
