» Topic: PT 109 PAPER MODEL
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2904

For a few months now, Stan Pienkowski has been building this paper PT-109 Model that I had purchased on the internet. I did not know what to expect, but Stan sent me these photos. I can't believe how really nice it looks. Stan will finish it soon, and add a stand, base and case, and I wil have my 109 for the Exhibit. Cutting out all those pieces and small parts must have been so tough. I really like this model.

Frank
No offense but I think Stan could build a great model out of anything. Glad he likes PT Boats.

That is amazing Frank !! Stan ROCKS. Did it come colored or did he have to paint it as well?

It comes already with colored paper. I think it's pretty cool for something made from paper. Your right, Stan is the man.

Oh boy, I am pretty dumb. When Stan was building this boat, we were going to make her PT-109. What I didn't know is that the 103 was already pressed into the paper. I really thought it said PT-109 and it was just the angle of the camera until I talked with Stan this afternoon. Nothing can be done because it is paper, so it will go into the exhibit as PT-103, with a write up, no problem.

Hey, it's only six numbers off. Who's gonna notice?

I just signed up -- if I missed something, who is the maker of the paper model kit and what scale is it? This is awesome for a paper model and I would like to get one!

Speed and maneuverability are essential

Hmm, never saw this before. It sure looks a lot better than the 1/32 scale Lindber PT boat does out ofthe box.

Cheers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stan has done a wonderful job with this. I've seen some some great papper models.but just looking at some of the details that were added, like the guns, mast, mufflers etc, they're not papper too are they?

Hey guys, go to ecardmodels.com and type in PT-103 class PT Boat and it should pop up. They are about $12.00, but remember they d not come to you as a kit, but as a download. I sent that download to COPYCAT PRINT SHOP and they printed out the paper in a thick scale so Stan could make the model. Trust me, it is not an easy build, according to Stan who made some of his own parts for the build. I think it's pretty cool because it is paper, but Stan said he would work doing scratch build or model kits any day.....................

By the way this Company also sells an upgrade to this paper model as well.

Pretty nice, for a model made out of paper!

Seems like the smoke generator's tipped on it's side, and we're looking at the bottom of the mounts, though...

Drew, I took these photos before I had Stan fix the smoke generator, it is now correct, but you are right, it is a nice little paper model, although as I mentioned, Stan had to work his own magic on it, to make it look decent.
