http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2652

THIS IS THE STORY EARL IS REFERRING TO, IN HIS RECENT POST ADDRESSED TO ME.

YOU MAY REMEMBER EARL ASKING FOR HELP LOOKING FOR INFO ON A MAN POSSIBLY ON THE 271 OR 217. ( THE POST IS ON PG 28 OF THE MESSAGE BOARD, TITLED , 'THOMAS McCARTHY' ). EARL'S FRIEND PAUL, AT THE LEGION POST, IS THE NEPHEW OF THOMAS McCARTHY.

ENDED UP THAT McCARTHY WAS IN FACT ON THE 212 IN RON 15. I SENT A COUPLE OF PHOTOS DOWN TO EARL, OF 212 CREW, BUT THAT WAS ALL I KNEW ABOUT THE PHOTOS. AMAZINGLY ENOUGH ONE OF THE MEN WAS MR. McCARTHY. HE WAS RADIO MAN ON THE 212 FOR MOST OF 1944, AS NEAR AS I CAN TELL.

NOW I'VE MET PAUL A FEW TIMES, THANKS TO EARL, OVER AT THE POST. PAUL SAYS HIS FAMILY HAS PHOTOS TO SHOW ME........... I CAN'T WAIT !
LAST WEEK WHEN I VISITED, PAUL HAD A NICE GIFT FOR EARL AND ONE FOR ME. HERE IS A PHOTO.
