Hey Frank.

Check out this 1/72 PT-167 being offered by Revell.

Peter Tare Builder,

That's the all-white-plastic reissue of that kit they've put out the last few years -- exact same model as their classic green-plastic "PT 109."

Thanks Drew.

Figured it was the 109 in another disguise but didn't realize it was molded in white plastic. Thought Frank would like the camo job.

BTW, did 167 have 20 mm in the gun tubs?

Cheers

Everybody knows how much I hate the Zebra boats. Such a horrid job of wrecking a beautiful sleek Elco boat. I don't think I would ever have one in the Exhibit............

PTB: I don't see any photo evidence of 20mm's in the 167 boat's turrets, nor does Allied Coastal Forces list that mod.

Revell also did a version christened PT-190. Exact same offering except it did have Mk XIIIs and racks instead of tubes.

I agree with Frank -- I've always thought the black-and-white "zebra"-striped paint jobs on the 80' Elcos were pretty ugly.

Wouldn't mind seeing a nice model of a forward-area 80' Elco with a green-(overpainted on the white stripes)-and-black "zebra" striped hull, though.

I think someone made and posted photos of a 1/32nd Lindberg 80' Elco up on the shipyard rails in the process of having her white stripes overpainted green on the Board before...

I like all of them....especially the 70's and 77's.
