I was trolling around ebay and ran across this POS. What set me off is the claim "Our craftsmen followed official reference plans to construct this fully detailed vessels". It doesn't even have turrets...

I must say that's pretty pathetic. Anyone in their right mind that knows anything about PT BOATS wouldn't give ten cents for this thing.

I think they followed those "Fully detailed plans" that were written upside down in chinese. THis model may be bad, but I still think the Revell model of PT212 is worse. Except they only charge $15 for the PT212! Hah Hah. Jerry

If you think this is bad, check out the Diorama in the PT BOATS section on Ebay. You'll laugh at the opening bid and buy it now price.

Can you give us the link to that diorama?

Just go to ebay and put in 251076031420 in the search engine. You won't believe what a turd this thing is, and the opening bid is $175.00. I think someone should give him $175.00 to take it off of ebay, it's that bad.

Thanks Frank.

Looks like the builder tried some interesting concepts that just didn't work out. I like how the raft appears to be going as fast as the PT boat.

I wonder how old the modeller is/was?

Cheers

Ted, LMAO. They must have one of those inboard motors attached. I know the PT BOATS were pretty good in shallow water, but that Skipper was real good to get in that close. What the hell was the Tank doing there.

Look at the wake at the stern of the PT boat. he tank is there to push the PT boat back into water after the PT boat runs aground. At that speed there's no way (in my opinion anyway) that the PT boat could stop before running aground.

This is way too much fun! I haven't built a model in years but it is a blast reading the comments of you who are serious builders about this horrendous depiction. I built the 109 when I was in my teens, but I would hate to share with anyone the color that I painted it - I am absolutely sure of one thing - that it was dead wrong! As it was, "my 109" fell off a shelf one day and was then placed unceremoniously in a little bayou in Houston and we shot it with BB-guns and threw firecrackers at it... what a demise for such a special boat.
