http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2585

Avast there mates!

I've looked for it everywhere but I can't find it. Does anyone here have a spare 1/32 Lindberg PT boat prop shaft support? Thats the part that goes into the ouside of the lower hull to support the propshaft just about where the prop goes.

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Hi Peter,
Unfortunately I dont have one or I would give it to you. However, I think I have the correct terminology for the part you are describing, it is called the STRUT. It contains a bearing on the inside for steadying the propeller shaft. The other end is bolted with heavy duty bolts to the bottom, with the nuts being on the inside of the boat. I think the wing engines have two struts and the center engine has one. Here are some photos showing these struts on the PT658. Jerry

Thank you Jerry.

I guess I'll just email Lindberg and ask them for one. It'll probably be the easiest, fastest and least expensive option.

In the images I see another reason to build a Higgins instead of an Elco boat. That's because I see only two rudders onthat boat.

Cheers from Peter
