Ahoy there mates.

I noticed on a few threads here where Hollywood movies are mentioned and inaccuracies are pointed out. One thing that movie goers must keep in mind is that just about any movie made by Hollywood is going to be fictionalized to some degree if not to a large degree. After all, these are movies made to entertain and are not nor were they ever intended to be documentaries.

Since I haven't watched it for a long time now, I wonder, did the movie PT-109 escape having a love story inserted into it?

IIRC, it did not.

I think Bucky (Robert Blake) had strong feelings about Commander Ritchie! But I dont think it was a love story! Jerry

Because Joe Kennedy was such an influence in Hollywood at the time, and dealing with the President of the United States, PT-109 was pretty straight forward. Some incidents were changed around, like the rescue of trapped Marines using PT-109 instead of PT-59, but Warner Brothers was not going to mess with the Kennedy's in making this movie...........
