GOOD EVENING GUYS;
DOES ANYONE HAVE A PHOTO OF ENS. (LATER LT jg) ERNIE PANNELL ON PT 375?
LT MIKE HOLOVAK RON 7 AND 8?
LT WALTER"WALLY" LEMM PT 114 RON 8?
LT CLINTON "RED" MCCLAIN RON 9 PT 155 AND PT 159?
AS A SIDE NOTE, THE OTHER NOTABLE IS OF COURSE, LT ROBERT MONGOMERY, RON 5 AND 4. XO PT'S 107, PT 68 AND XO PT 114. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A PHOTO OF HIM ON PT'S EXCEPT IN TWE. I BELIEVE HE WAS REPLACED BY CARLTON L. BYRD AS EXEC ON PT 114, PRIOR TO DEPLOYMENT TO THE SOLOMONS. THANKS,
TAKE CARE,
TED

Ted,

Are you looking for photos of these guys on their boats ? Or just any photo of them. I'm sure I have a pic of 'Red' McClain and a couple other men at Palawan in 1945.

Steve;
Either or. If possible on the boat, but I will take either, execpt for Montgomery,I really want to see him on a PT Boat. especially PT 114. It is very surprising, I understand while in PT's he wanted to be left alone(ie: Jack Searles Book) and allowed just to do his duty, but you would think some photos exist, since he was who he was, but I have never seen one photo.
Take care,
TED

Hi Ted,
I think I read somewhere, possibly from Master Chief Jack Duncan of PT103 said those photos Al Ross posted about 2 months ago of the smashed up Torpedo tube that show details of the insides of the tube pedistal base was the result of LTjg Robert Montgomeries boat driving skills while still in New York. Evidently he smashed into a dock so bad it broke the torpedo tube! I just thought this was kind of ironic, since he portrayed Bulkley in "They were Expendable". I heard he was not the most respected boat handler as far as skippers go. Something about he got away with it because he was a famous movie star seems to stick in my mind also. Maybe I am way off base, and somebody can verify this? Jerry
