Al;
Happy Birthday!!! Jeff Pitched in with the Birthday Cake support Vehicle, so I flew down to Panama, passed your parents old quarters at Radio Farfan, and picked up this special cake for you at the Big Dolceria near Eldorado Mall! They also asked me to pass on to you a big FELICE CUMPLEAÑOS !
TAKE CARE, TED

Hey, even an older guy likes to spend time with his girlfriend... [:-good-:]

Thanks for the birthday wishes and concern. I'm just fine, was just pursuing other interests the last few days.

Happy Birthday to you, Al. Back in the 80's it would have been a much harder road travel if not for your plans and expertise.

What was fantastic is that they were able to save 7 out of 10 of his BGF's digits!

Wayne...those 77 footers look outstanding! Were those the originals for the molds you market in 1/20 scale i believe? They look great!

Hello Michael,

The 1/24th scale PT-34 and 48 models pictured are examples of my first attempts at scratch building. In 1980 there was little modeling related information and nothing for hull lines for the 77 footers that I knew of. So this newly minted member of PT Boats Inc. wrote to Boats Newberry about the problem. Enter Al Ross. Two weeks later a letter arrives from Al explaining that he had recently made available exactly I was looking for in 1/32nd scale PT-34. Enlarging Al's plans 133% produced the 1/24th scale dimensions I wanted to model and eventually produce kits in. In time Al would develope complete plans for the Higgins, 80'er and many other craft as well. For me, Al's knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm was contagious. I was originally only going to build one PT.
