Hey Will,
Queen Mary was similar, she had 4 screws, two 3 bladed screws outboard and two 4 bladed screws inboard. You can see them in and around LA still. One 3 blade is still attached to the ship, one 3 blade is at the LA Maritime Museum in San Pedro and both 4 blades are at the Cruise Ship Terminal in Long Beach outside on display. Jerry

Boy, oh boy --

I could really go off on how there's been all this unwarranted attention over the years about this "Titanic" cruise ship, and about it hitting an iceberg and then sinking , and all those people getting killed, and everyone being so interested about this one ship, and the search to find it, and trying to figure out how and where it sank, and what it looked like, when there have been so many other similar big cruise ships, in so many other areas of the world's oceans, with so many other crewmembers on them --- but I won't [:-good-:]

Some areas, or events (or similar boats), in history capture and hold our interest a little more so than others, even though are many other areas, or events, (or similar boats) that may have been more important, successful, or meaningful.

It seems to me, and always has, that a concentration of interest in, and detailed examination and research of those singular and specific areas, events, or similar boats (ships) -- like the Titanic -- does absolutely nothing to take away from the importance, success, or meaning of all the other areas, events (or similar boats), or the people involved with them.

Know what I mean?

[:-cheers-:]

Hey Drew are you trying to say the entire world does not revolve around the PT109? Please do not shatter my entire world view! Arent we supposed to only discuss the PT109 at all possible times? Even if it is barely related? Is not the name of this website and discussion board called "The PT109 Message Board"? Wasnt the PT109 in some way involved with the sinking of the Titanic? I think maybe the Kennedy's were involved somehow, surely. What will I do with all of my spare time NOW? I really like yanking this chain. Har har har.....Jerry

If you use 1 for A, 2 for B, etc., "Titanic" and "JFK" adds up to 109. [:-whoo2-:]

I am posting this just so you know to avoid me as well if you see me on the other side of the street.. A buddy of mine Bob Widor from Milwaukee sent me this photo from our days together on the USS Long Beach CGN9. That is me 4th from the left with sunglasses. Taken Feb 1984 as we left Pearl on WestPac cruise.

TED, that's a nice photo of you, I think I am going to have to start calling you RAMBO from now on. I think with a little photo shop effort from DICK, we might be able to get a 77 Footer behind you. JEFF, you missed that movie, the next one will be in April and is called " HOW THE HELL MANY PT BOAT MODELS CAN YOU HAVE". It is narrated by Stan Pienkowski.

Another cool pic. Ted, I have no problem giving right-of-way to a man with several large guns and a look like that.

Frank, tell Stan "one of each number". It is great having a master like Stan making PT models for public display, and I'm sure you let him know that often.

Jeff, you are right, I always tell Stan how much I appreciate his work. I appreciate his friendship even more, we have been friends for a long time, and I just love the guy. He always tells me that I will keep him working till he is 100, with all the projects I have. In truth, I am not sure how much longer Stan will be doing this work for people. I have a feeling I may just be looking for another builder in the coming years, which to me is Sad....................

Info-
I've met and interviewed the owner of the model... and it seen it up close + personal... it is huge and stunning. Gary Kohs is sincere in his respect for the ship and the builder, and highly disdainful of: a) the operators who caused the tragedy, and b) those who profit from the tragedy.

He calls the "treasure hunters" "grave robbers", and refuses to exhibit the model at any site hosting any exhibition of the plundered Titanic loot ("artifacts").
