http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2505

I was hoping one of you might help me. I need a good quality photo of the famous shot of Kennedy and crw on the bow of PT-109. The one I have is really poor quality. I need the photo to be 8x10, and will be happy to pay for it. I will be putting the photo in an 11x14 mat for my PT-109 Exhibit in April. I looked on Ebay, but for some reason the ones they have have too much white space top and bottom, and will not look good in the mat. Appreciate anyones help here............

Frank . . .

Try the NARA they have a Kennedy Library and they respond fairly quickly. This is where I ordered the PT-59 Photo. They offer photos at 600dpi downloadable and/or in photographic prints up to 11 x 14. See email address below, Xaviera was an intern and very helpful, maybe she is still there. Both the digital and photo print cost for an 8"x10" is about the same, around $25 each

Dick

Thanks, I will do that, although I did not want to spend $25.00 a print that was just going to be taped into an 11x14 mat board. I just need a decent print to use for the Exhibit. Thanks for the information, I just thought one of the guys here on the board might have a good quality shot they could just scan and E mail to me...........

Frank.

Perhaps if you explain to them the work you and your PT Boat Exhibit does they would donate acopy of that image to you. It's worth a try in my opinion.

Cheers from Peter

Dear Frank,
Any chance U can let me know how U do on the picture U R searching 4 .
As an aside, you made a recent post refering to scale versions of the 80' elco. I have been working on a 1/30 th scale version of a 103 class elco for a while now. It is just over 33' long and 9' wide. I made 3 props & 3 rudders for her & will soon be doing the electrics in her. I went nuts on the details , but it is starting to look presentable. If y'all would like I could send a copy of a shot or 2 I have of her 4 U . Cheers, John.15/3/2012 7:37 am.

I would love to see your work. In fact, please add them to the message board as we would all love to see what you have built.
