» Topic: Life Boat color???
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2330

As I posted here earlier, I'm building a model of my Dad's boat-PT-342, Ron 24, 1943-44, SW PAcific. Now I have a question as to the color and location of the lifeboat? No pics in Dad's albumn show it but he was mainly taking pics of his buddies not the boat. I know it was NOT on the foredeck. Any suggestions. I could leave it off? Color though??

Life boat color, should you decide to use the blow up raft, or the balsa raft is dependant on which one you choose. I know that most of the models I have in my Exhibit that do contain the balsa raft, are painted to match the boat. This would be your green color, or in the case of the standard ealier boat, gray. I have never used the blow up raft type on any of our builds, but in several photos I have showing this type raft, they look like the standard rubber black color. Bridge Carney, who made a wonderful balsa raft for his PT-157, would be a great source to ask. He did plenty of research on the balsa raft, and I aam sure it would help you............
