Hi Guys,
Just receive Schiffer's new catalog with my book in it. I made the dead line. It will be out
in Oct. and the list price is $70, a $25 increase. If Barnes & Noble offers $43 something
for pre-order. Go for it.

I know this will be an even greater book than the original with all the new content you've added. It's a 'must' purchase for the PT library at full price so the pre-release price is a gift (and it ain't even Christmas yet!).

I got mine. That's guys for the heads up and the link.

Thank you all for your high praise for my book. Now I am worry whether my book can live
up to such expectations. Today's publishers do everything with computer. The digital
image is always a mystery to me. All the images I emailed them turned out to be not up to
their standard. Without the help of Dick W. and my daughter, Vicky, this book would
never be published. Anyway I hope Schiffer will do a good job in printing pictures, especially the color ones.
You should know vol. I is out of print now at $45. Ebay is the only place you can still get it at the old price as long as the supply last. Schiffer charges $60 now. Inflation is finally
catching up with us.

Ordered mine this afternoon. Love the cover depicting PT-124, whch by the way is Clark Faulkner and Leighton Huck Wood at the helm. I was friends with Huck Wood and he signed my painting of this very book cover. He donated his Uniform, Hat, and the Silver Star and certificate for this very action, and other actions during his time with PT BOATS. I think Faulkner got the Navy Cross as well..........

Victor,

I have newer photos of my Oyster Bay diorama with 7 boats, instead of just four like the earlier photos that I submitted, to you.

Some are black and white, enhanced like these........

(I realize that it may be too, late for the publisher.)

I unintentionally fooled the guy at Navsource.org when I sent photos of my USS Absecon AVP-23, to him, to show how I had to reposition the cranes after seeing new photos of the real ship while launching Kingfishers. He mistook the photos of my model as some of the real ship and posted them, as such.

I then informed him of the nature of the photos and he like them, enough, to post them alongside the photos of the real ship, in a separate section on the web page.

http://www.navsource.org/archives/09/43/4323.htm

I've sent him pics of the USS Oyster Bay, now.

I just received a cancellation of my order for Victor's NEW book (American Pt Boats in World War II] book from Barnes & Noble. The book is due out for shipping in mid-December however it has now been order 60-days since I placed my order with Barnes & Noble so they (legally] had to cancel the order. B&N is not listing the new book at all now (what the heck!, B&N is twisted here). HOWEVER you can still get the book at pre-release discount price on Amazon however (which is what I am doing now)!

Someone told me that Barnes & Noble canceled his pre-publication order using credit card.
Anyone else encounter similar problem?

I had placed two orders, one as gift, and both came back today as cancelled. I will not do business with Barnes and Noble for the book, but will put in my order with Amazon. I will not however pre order. I will wait until the book actually comes out in print.

Although I purchase all of my books through Amazon, I will not pre-order anything this time around. I will wait until the book is really on the market before making the purchase, but I really look forward to adding this book to my collection. Victor is there anyway i can get my book signed by you, after the purchase.

Hi Frank,
For those who want my autograph, the best way is for me to sign or put whatever you want
on a 3 X 5 card and mail it to you via US post office. Sending the book back and forth is
too expensive. Any idea anyone?

Hi Carl,
Your pictures are great but way too late for this book. Still your other picture is on page 177.
I told them your picture deserves a full page coverage, unfortunately those guys never
listen to the authors.

That's okay, Victor. It was worth a try.

I am still most, flattered that there will at least one pic of my USS Oyster Bay model in the new book.

Good luck with it and you have my best wishes.
