I noticed on Terry White's excellent web site a report on tests conducted by the Navy of a quintuple rocket/bazooka launcher for use on PT's:

Images of the launcher can be found at the bottom of the page.

All:

I absolutely love it when information just falls into place. As most of you know, I have been working for a few years on a VERY DETAILED history of MTB Div 17 (and extended to Task Group 50.1). The rocket launcher test report referenced in this post shows that it was originally requested by Lt. Daniel S. Baughman who by then was the CO of Ron 25. But he was relying upon all of his experiences AS THE ORIGINAL CO OF DIVISION SEVENTEEN. He was an agressive CO at Div 17 and often would patrol night after night, jumping from one boat to another. An assessment made by Maj. Throsby, Australian liaison to T.G. 50.1, was that Baughman was willing to do anything and everything to make his unit (Div 17) perform at its best under the conditions of sparce supplies, including the basics such as fuel, food, water, medicine, etc. He always had the admiration and respect of those working with him and for him. He later transferred into the "Silent Service" and was lost off the coast of Japan, presumed to be in action, as the submarine just "disappeared".

YES !! It's so great when the information falls into place. Thanks for the original post Jeff.

That's great Allen, I'm glad the link I pointed out helped with your project.

I should have typed "rocket launcher / bazooka" by the way. Giving bazookas to the enemy would have been dumb. [:-stong-:]
