Earl: Thanks for getting back to me with your input. You are so right that there are not many of us old timers on the message board left to tell the stories we encountered while riding the boats in WW11. Like you mention we have our memories and really our memories are the only thing no one can take from us. I too miss the stories and stuff we used to discuss. I wish more old timers that were on the boats would tell their tales. We will have to just depend on the splinters and modelers to keep this PT thing going. Earl, I know it is and has been a very difficult time for you in your life. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Just hang in there my good friend.

Earl

If this happens, I am sure we will all miss you very much. It saddens me to think you might be giving up the message board. After all, this was started for guys like you. Rest assured that I will always do my best to keep the history of the PT BOATS in the public eye, as I am sure the others here will do the same thing.

Earl! You are the man! I did manage to use MUCH of the information you passed on in the book. And some of your recipe notes.

But, that picture you sent in with you on the beach. Heck, my wife is IN LOVE!! She said you were pretty dang good looking.

Used Earl's name in a Memorial Day interview with a TV station. And will post a link when they run it online. I think they post the video a day or two after the airdate.

I'll post this in an update about the book. But the name was changed, and some of the focus. I'll start a new thread for that.

Have a safe memorial day weekend everyone! - Kent Whitaker
