My Italeri kit of MAS 568 arrived today. I've always loved these boats and Italeri did not disappoint. The company has been doing some great work for those of us interested in motor torpedo boats and have released three 1/35 scale kits so far: PT 596, S-100, and MAS 568. Supposedly, MTB 73 (Vosper) is in development.

I think I'm going to build it as MT 54O, a gunboat version of the somewhat earlier series in which the torpedoes were replaced with two additional 20mm/65 BREDAs.

Hey Frankie A and Al-

In a recent public opion poll that was run by FINE SCALE MODELER magazine, there are plenty of scale modelers who chimed in to say that they want "more" PT boat models in the future. I voted in that poll for a 1/35th scale 103 class PT by Italerie. I'd like to see a 1/72nd scale Higgins by anybody. That Higgins that Revell re-issued is a pure waste of money and the scale is like 1/107 or something very wierd. I sure wish that all these model companies would come out with models in a standardized scale series rather than the off scale models.

As for that 103 class PT Frankie, I'm hoping that Italerie saw that poll and takes a crack at that kit. They would sure have another hit on their hands, for sure.
