Thanks for cleraring that up

Was there a difference between PT and PTC designations?

PT was the USN designation for a motor torpedo boat while PTC was that for a small sub chaser. The two were not interchangeable.

The 63' craft originally intended for the USN were designated PTC, while those destined for Russia from the outset were designated RPC .
