Does anyone have pictures of PT-215 they could send me or a link where I could find them? Thanks, Mark Kellymark@fuse.net

Mark,

There are two photos of the 215 in Victor Chun's book, 'American PT Boats in World War II',
pages 44 & 45.

Hope that helps.

Hello Mark!

I went through my grandfather's pics...nothing on the 215. I might have some in another folder, but it's not cataloged yet. I'll check and get back to you!

Don't know if this is of any help, but here's a drawing of PT 209 as reconfigured.

All,
THANK YOU for the support and please keep the info/pictures coming. ! I am building the configuration on page 44 of Victors book given the unique configuration. Does anyone have a picture or idea how the 30cal was mounted to the port torpedo tube?
Al,
Can you email the print you posted to kellymark@fuse.net ?

Cant wait to finish this boat and take it over to Russell Schuster’s house.

Hello Mark!

Sorry, no photos of the 215 in my files.

Here's a shot of one of the extra MG's I found though...

Looks like the "mount" is a pole bolted to the deck with support brackets welded to the torpedo rack. The 209 seemed to get this upgrade in the late Spring of 1944 during the "surge" in the Med for the summer invasions.

Hi Mark,
Here is a picture of Milt Donadt on PT235 showing a detail of the way they mounted the 30cal browning to their boat. Thanks to Bill Maloney for this picture. Jerry
