Greetings All,

In case you are interested, here’s a cool piece of PT Boat history. It is a Packard Instructor’s Manual that once belonged to Lt. Cdr David J. Walsh, former XO and CO of MTBSTC. It being offered by our own Frank Andruss.

I have recieved a E-Mails from a few of you on the message board, so I thought I would clear a few things up. First of all, I do not have to explain myself as to why I am selling a piece of History and not donating it to PT BOATS INC. I have been a member here for almost 20 years and have a nice relationship with Alyce Guthrie, and if you must know I recently donated an original Elco Griddle for the boat, and extra photo's and a scrap book of Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery. Second of all, as I have two Manuals that are the same, I do not feel bad about getting rid of one. Third, if you must know, I am raising funds to complete my deal of the Lt. Alan Montgomery collection. I am so angry over the fact that some of you are even questioning me. My life has been devoted to PT BOATS and the work I have done and continue to do speaks for itself. Charlie was kind enough to post the sale here, just in case you, my friends might be interested in owning a wonderful piece of History. I never thought by doing so, I would be told what a bad person I was for trying to sell the Manual.

For those of you that are my friends, your support and friendship means a great deal to me. For those of you that felt you needed to stick your nose in my business I wish I could meet you in person, so that I could give you a real piece of my mind. These are just some of the reasons why people are leaving this message board. I am sorry guys but I had to vent today and explain my actions. Thanks for listening...........

Frank: I can't believe anyone who frequents this board would question your dedication for the betterment of the history of P.T. Boats. Outside the gang at Headquarters I know of no one or group more devoted to the preservation of the future of P.T. Boats than you. You have spent much time and your money on your collection of items in your museum. It is your privilige to do with them as you see fit. Frank, as one of the P.T. vets that frequents this board I am with you 100%. Hang in there.

Frank;
WOW!! I can't understand anyone is questioning your motives. Besides I agree with everyone here, don't ever explain yourself to anyone. IF THEY are so worried, Why don't they buy it then???
Take care,

This guy took several days of his time to help a stranger out by doing research that I was unable to do given the resources I don't have. After reading through the 80 or so pages on here since I joined, I'd say this guy's got Packard motor oil for blood.
