Hello -

Two questions about the Ron 35 boats:

1) How were they painted?

2) Did they have two 20mm guns mounted (port and starboard) by the ammo lockers for the 40mm gun?

You've got a question, I've got an answer.

Garth: Photographic evidence suggests that the Ron 35 boats were grey; shots of PT-513 show what appear to be 20mm mounts near the deck edge just forward of the forward torpedos.

I guess I should have been a little more explicit here: I have been told that some of the Ron 35 boats tested having two (one port & one starboard) 20mm guns on Mk. X tripods by the ammo lockers for the 40mm ... I'm assuming that means that they were located aft, by the 40mm.

Does anyone know about this experiment?
