My father, Kenneth D. Christianson, was in Ron 12, PT 192. I have 4 scanned pictures of the crew on the boat and one Ron 12 boat on patrol.

I do not have a website to post them on.

Does anyone have interest in seeing them or posting them? I will be email to anyone interested.

Kim sent the images to me with permission to post. Thank you very much for sharing these with us Kim! The name of the boat at the time the chart house photo was taken was the GALLOPING GUILLOTINE. Here they are followed by links to higher resolution images if anyone wants them:

Wow...great shot of the 192 crew on the charthouse...a lot of character in all those guy's faces...one of them -- the kid just to starboard of the halyard -- looks about 12 years old.

That "Galloping Guillotine" centaur executioner on the charthouse is, without a doubt, THE most elaborately-rendered boat name drawing/painting I've ever seen on a PT.

The picture is indeed a hand-paint artwork on the charthouse. My father told me that one of the crew painted that during the long assignment in the PI. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the artist.

I would like to see any additional pictures you may have. I would also like to hear more about your Grandfather as well. My Dad spent many hours telling stories of "life on the boat" to my sons and they can recite them verbatim.

Pan was more like a satyr Ted, with horns, butt, and legs of a goat. He only had 2 legs.

Permission to come aboard.....

I have been looking for pictures and information on the 192 Boat for Years and am thrilled to finally find a crew picture. My late uncle Robert F. Solari QM2C is at the far right second row in the crew photo.

I am amazed at the fact that the posting connected a child, grandchild and nephew to a Boat with only16 crew members 67 + years after the photo was taken.

Any leads on information related to the 192 would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Mark Baker
Kennebunk, Maine

Hello all.

Can anyone ID the crew of PT-192 that appears in the photo posted by Kim Christianson? I have discovered that this boat supported the Alamo Scouts on their famous mission to Mindanao during the Battle of Surigao Strait in Oct 1944. Please advise.

Thanks!

Lance
