Although it takes very little to get my Temper going, I usually try to deal with people in a responsible manner. I received a very interesting E-Mail last nght from a supposed WWII Nay Veteran, who toally trashed the PT BOATS of WWII and the men who manned them. Although I refuse to give out his name, his E-Mail talked about the waste of material and men that were spent on PT BOATS. He talked about the wooden boats that were just so much junk and the high praise given to those who did nothing during the War. He siad that medals were handed out to PT BOAT MEN like water and were not deserving. I do not have the room here to list everything he said, but after reading this I had to write him back.

He claims to have served in the South Pacific on a Destroyer, although he would not tell me which one (there is doubt here as to his service to our Country) as he claims to have been a gunners mate on 10 INCH GUN. He says he remember being in the Solomons and seeing those PT BOAT BOYS laying around taking in the Sun, and fishing off those hgh priced Yachts. I really lost my temper with this fool, and demanded he give me his number, or he could call me to discuss his reasons for bad mouthing these guys. He refused to do so, but said he would monitor this message board (I gave him the web address) and possibly voice his opinion here.

I welcome him to come here, and I hope he reads this post. He is without a doubt the most idiotic person I have had to deal with, and my only wish is that I could meet him in person. Why he choose t contact me is a mystery, but the bigger picture is why he choose to attack those wonderful and brave men from the PT BOAT NAVY. I had many questions for this moron, but he would not answer them. If you read this Steve (his first name) be a real man, and tell the guys here what you have said to me. I am also calling your bluff and sayng right here and now that you are not a WII VETERAN and probably never even served on a Destroyer. What you are is a coward who just decided to attack men who put their lifes on the line every day in a wonderful wooden boat. I could go on and on, but my blood pressure is already at a fever pitch....................

Hi Frank.

He sounds like a TROLL and the best thing to do with Trolls is not to feed them. As my dad was fond of saying, "Consider the source son and then ignore it."

Life is too short to let people like that upset you so much. We know the truth and that is what really matters.

It'll soon be warm enough up here for the rest of the ice to melt off from he local pond and I'll be able to run my two RC PT boats again.

When are you running a model again?

Cheers from Peter

I do not do RC BOATS. Everything I have built is used in the PT BOAT EXHIBIT. You are correct, I should not bother to get myself upset over this TROLL.............

The best way to deal with it is to ignore it. If you ignore that guy it will make him crazy. As far as showing up on our forum, we don't want that kind of attitude around here.

I agree with you Frank, Now you got my blood pressure up after reading your message. I wouldn't mind meeting this guy face to face and tell me about the PT service and I'd tell him about all the men who served on them and died for our country. My uncle who died on the PT 320 is probably rolling over in his grave about this idiot.

I almost was not going to post about this jerk on our message board, but I was so upset and was hoping he might show up here so he could explain himself. Lets see if the Coward comes here. To all my PT BOAT VETERANS who read this, please understand why I posted his comments here. We all know the hard work and sacrifices you made riding these boats, and there is always one bad apple that tries to spoil the bunch...........BY THE WAY, there were no 10 inch guns on American Destroyers.....

As the Executive Director of the Alamo Scouts Association I will first state that the PT boats and their crews were an integral part of the Alamo Scouts success during the war. Which translated in saving lives because of the reconnaissance information they brought back. To also add that my father's 6 man team probably would not of made it back alive after their mission on Pegun Island. It was Pt's 323 & 190 that saved the day, also that little Australian Beaufighter that strafed the beach. With that out of the wayÉ Since 1999, I've seen my share of morons, idiots and crack pots in the form of emails and post left on our message board. When you run into people that spew out a lot of crap and won't answer questions, most likely they are just pulling your chain or have an ax to grind about something and they picked you for some reason. I would just ignore it and don't give him the time of the day. Keep doing what you're doing because for every one nut out there, there's thousands of people that appreciate what you are doing.

Frank, take his email address and contact his IP Provider and see if they will give you at least his age if not his telephone number.
