I am building the interior for the Elco 1\35 boat.

Does anyone have a picture of the what would be the back of the bridge panel. That might be confusing. OK Imagine your standing on the bridge you go through the hatch doorway down onto the chart house. Now turn around and look back at the hatch and the IFF destructor switch.

The only picture I can find shows the switch and the door but doesn't show anything further to the right of the room.

Can any one help me out.

Denny,

Try Bill Maloney's photos of the interior of PT 617 at Battleship Cove;

http://www.williammaloney.com/Aviation/PTBoat/BridgeNRadios/index.htm

I think they're the only photos of the inside of the charthouse of an 80' Elco PT I've ever seen, other than the brief glimpses you get in the movies "They Were Expendable" and "PT 109."

"PT 109" in particular has a couple of shots of the starboard side of the charthouse interior -- but not of the rear (interior side) of the instrument panel/helm.

Denny,

The plans for the ELCO interior are on the DVD produced by Dick Washichek, the web mater for this site. I have a complete set of photographs for the 565series boats. For cost of the DVD adn postage ($5.00) I would be willing to burn these photos to a DVD and send it to you.

This is a big project, I started this in 1/72 scale some 15 years ago. The project is still on the work bench.

Sounds like quite the project Bill! Any idea of when it will be done?

Besides taking Bill up on his offer, there's a good shot of the chart room port wall, along with about half the stern wall, in the book Allied Coastal Forces Of WW2 Vol 2 Denny.

Thank You all

The picture that I did have of the door from the bridge was from Mr. Maloney's site, so I am glad to know I was on the right track. You are very right, there are a lot of great interior pictures there. I took the time to save each of the pictures on his site to a folder so I can reference them without having to run all the way up stairs to our Internet connected computer. Then back down two flights of stairs to my model shop. At that rate I would have to install a "Batpole".

Bill, Would you be so kind as to contact me at djcewhite@juno.com.
I would like to acquire copies of the pictures you have.

Finally, very special thanks for the clue to the photo in Allied Coastal Forces Vol 2. I am glad I have not yet given back my borrowed copy. I found the photo on page 135 middle of the left side.

I really need to look more carefully at the photos. I saw that earlier in my search and didn't catch the angle of the front of the chart house on the right hand side of the picture.

Again, Thank You Gentlemen for your help in this.

Denny
