» Topic: Info on my father
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=1605

My name is Scott Swiger, I am the son of Herman Swiger Jr. whom we lost in Feb 08. As is true with most WWII vets, he did not talk a lot about his time in the war. I would like to find info or talk to someone who might have served with him. I have gone to the records site that PT Boats Inc gives on their web site, but was wondering if I could find anything else. He served from May 1943 till Jan 1946. He was in MTB Ron 7 at bases 4 &6 Kana Kopa, New Guinea. He was a MoMM3/c. I miss him terribly and regret not being able to find out more about his time in the Navy. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bump just in case some new people are here or it was missed. I am most likely one of the youngest 1st generation splinters. My father was 49 when I was born and I am now 38. I miss him every day and could not be prouder of him and his service to our great country. Thanks to all vets for keeping our country free and safe.
