Hello Al:
I hope all is ok. People always ask me the same question. What the hell was a FEMU. Hey come on gang, Floating Equipment Maintainence Unit. Another interesting but forgotten part of the PT Boats unkeep, these large floating barges had everything on them but the klitchen sink, and they may have had that as well. I found them to be such an interesting part of the PT Service that I had a Diorama made of one. That Crane which could lift an engine or a Torpedo, and the fact they could operate on their own power was something as well. The FEMU UNITS will now be included in all of my future Exhibits. Certainly not as glamourous as being on a PT Boat Crew, but a vital part of the boats survival..
