http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=1518

Once again we are fast approaching one of the most important days on the Calender. To my WWII PT BOAT VETERANS, let me say thank you so very much for the sacrifices you made during the War. The lomg patrols, the endless nights of rain, bugs, shore batteries, and tangles with the enemy were all in keeping with the highest traditions of the US NAVY. What you did not only helped to rid the World of the AXIS POWERS, but help future generations to raise their families, take on Jobs, go to college, and make so many choices that we have in our Country today. From the bottom of my Heart, I say thank you.

To all other Veterans of the Armed Services, I say thank you so much for all that you have done and continue to do. Knowing you are on the Job helps all of us sleep better at night. To those who made the Supreme Sacrifices, I say REST IN PEACE, you are the true Heroes, whi will never be forgotten..........................

Frank: Thanks for the accolades for us old Veterans. Service to our country at the time of WW11 was a mission that had to be done by all young men our age. It was our duty and honor to serve. Not only us service men but all the homefront was united to serve our country. No time in history has there been a more concerted effort. This great country in which we live could certainly use some of this unity today. To all our Veterans also the men and women serving now, I say thank you. It is not an easy life.

WELL SAID ALL. OUR BODIES MAY BE WEARY FROM AGE BUT OUR MEMORIES GO BACK TO THOSE DAYS WHEN WE SERVED.WE DID MANY THINGS,THINGS WE FELT WE WOULD NEVER DO,THINGS WE CRIED AND LAUGHED ABOUT.WE HAD HAPPY DAYS AND SAD DAYS.WE SAW SORROW AND HAPPINESS.WHEN WE LOOK BACK AT THOSE DAYS WE REMEMBERED WHY AND WHAT WE SERVED FOR.WE MADE MANMY FRIENDS AND SOME ENEMIES.WE KILLED AND WERE KILLED.ALL OF THIS TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY WE LOVE SO WELL.WE DID NOT FEEL WE WERE PUSHED INTO SERVING OUR COUNTRY.OUR COUNTRY CALLED OUT FOR US TO DEFGEND IT AND WE DID IT TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY.WE WERE A PROUD NATION OF YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN WHO WORE OUR UNIFORMS PROUDLY.WE SERVED TOGETHER,WE FOUGHT TOGETHER,WE LIVED TOGETHER AND WE DIED TOGETHER.WE HAD A CAUSE AND IT WAS TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY AND ALL WHO LIVED IN ITI PRAY TODAY FOR ALL WHO SERVED IN ANY WARS AND I PRAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE SERVING NMOW AND ARE AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.THIS IS A DAY OF REMBRANCE AND I DO REMEMBER.

Earl, C.J., QM, Arthur, Russ, Bob, and the rest of the men of the PT BOATs;
This is a day were we remember the sacrifices of you and your generation(and those before and since, but I am speaking of yours specifically). You did your duty and that was that. I would like to extend my personal THANK YOU.
For if it was not for you guys, a lot of things we take for granted today would not exist.
For instance, just to name a few: this message board. Our life long interest in PT Boats, My 12 years in my NSW boats. My Family(because I met my wife in Panama while assigned to NSW as a Boat Captain), Maybe even the internet.
I salute you and again I am proud to say THANK YOU.
BRAVO ZULU
Take care,
TED
