A nice visit to Stan's house this Sunday was certainly worth the trip. The Crane project is entering into its final stages of completion. The concrete pad is now complete, as well as the ladder to the Crane operators position.The crane door has been built and will be added soon. All connections to the motors and the crane house are now done. Stan has put together this wonderful looking security fence that ran the lenth of the property at Elco. Dirt, rock, and gravel have been added. The PT Boat is being put together and today Stan sprayed the Hull. I brought over a 1/72 scale cargo truck that will be added to the piece, and we discussed how many Elco employees will be included. Lights on the Crane will be added later this week, so the project should be wrapped up in roughly 2 weeks....................

Beautiful work, Frank.

This display will look absolutely incredible with a brand-new 103-class 80' Elco PT in a fresh-from-the-factory original paint job hanging from the crane.

Please pass on to Stan my (and our) appreciation of his artistry.

Frank;
Outstanding work, pass it on to Stan! I especially like his touch of marine growth he is adding to the pilings, I thought I only had an eye for this stuff!
Is the boat going to be 103 or 131 of John Bulkeley's RON 7?
take care,
TED

The boat in the cradle will be PT 105. I chose this boat because Stan is building the boat right from the box, and as you know PT-103 had depth charges on her stern. Stan did not want to build the depth charges, and remove the areas for the torpedo tubes. He had enough scratch building to do. Also, the boat will be in honor of Skipper Dick Keresey, who I had the chance to meet and speak to some years back. The twin 50 mounts will be covered with canvas and not show the guns. The 20MM will be there, but no raft on the bow, stantions will be used on the model. You are right, Stan has done an outstanding job on this project.

Hey Frank-

Absolutely, without a doubt, remarkable piece of work. Can't wait until the PT-105 is in the cradle finished. Pass this onto Stan! He's a modelers modeler for sure!!

I hope you guys have not lost interest with the Elco Crane Model. I have tried to give you updates and photos to take you step by step. I sure hope it didn't bore any of you. I will be taking a trip to Stan's on Saturday at which time the project most likely will be completed. I will be looking over all of the extra add on's including Elco Workers, Truck, Crates, Boxes, and other items which would have been in the areas around the Crane. Stan just wants to be sure that items are in the correct position before he secures them. I really look forward to this last stage of the project, and Iam sorry to see it end. I will as always take some photos for you guys to see and hope to enter the project into one of the model magazines. Thanks for looking.................

Thank you, Frank! This is incredible work and needs to be featured in a scale modeling publication.
