I am working on the 1/72 scale Revell PT-109 (&waiting for the Italeri 1/35 to come out) I want to detail the interior and need some photos. or detailed drawings of the [103 class] Wardroom (became the Radar room) and the Passage area between the foreward dayroom hatch (the 3 steps) to the Galley.
Thank you for your time & Service.

Eddie

Headquarters has a complete photograph collection of PT 565 (Elco 80)as-built condition. About 100 8X10 photos were taken by Elco for documentation. You can get Xerox copies of the few pages you need for literally pennies. Might be helpful to reference that 565 collection (it's self-contained in a binder) to ease any research effort. Good luck.

Hi Ed,
I found that Bill Maloney's website has numerous interior photographs of both the Elco 80 footer and the Higgins 78 footer located in the Battleship Cove Museum. They are posted under the "Aviation and Military" portion of his website, just scroll down to the lower portion of the Aviation section and you will see links to "Elco PT617" and also "Higgins PT Boat PT796" both of these show a large amount of detailed interior shots. They should be very helpful. I think you should build a model of the 78 foot Higgins personally, though, since Higgins PT658 located here in Portland, OR is the one I am involved with! Take care and good luck....Jerry

Sure thing Ed. Hey, do you have photos of your models posted on the internet? There are a lot of really good model builders lurking about in these parts. I think Garth Connelly is one that comes to mind. http://www.ptboatworld.com Also there are links to several others on this website. These is also John Drain http://www.pt-boat.com, and Gene Kirkland's PT King http://www.geocities.com/pt_king/PTModels.html is also really good. I would be interested in seeing some of your work! Jerry

Jerry, I'm slowly getting back into the hobby the past 4 yrs. I'm in contact with Garth Connolley as I'm a member on Fone Scale Modeler (aka Hippy Ed) At this time, I do not have any pics of my models but, am working on changing that in the near future.
There are a great number of modelers out there and Garth Connolley has used a few of them over the yrs.
