Hi all,

My name is Mike Denest and I've been a PT boat fan ever since I saw "PT 109" on the big screen.

Recently while looking for a new marina to keep our boat, we stopped in the Wharton Creek Marina on the Maryland Eastern Shore. In the yard is a hull that I immediately recognized as a PT boat hull. It is on blocks and is in very bad shape, just about all of the wood is rotted on the hull with some very nasty looking holes. I spoke with someone in the marina shop about the boat, he indicated that it had been there for a while but did not know much more about it.

I was not able to get on the boat (I didn't dare due to the extensive rot) but I could see that the charthouse was there. It looks quite decrepid in it's present state.

Does anyone know about this boat and its history?

DO KEEP US INFORMED. Maybe you could do some detective work. Someone at the Marina must know something. Did you take pictures of the boat? If you did I would love to see them.[:-confused2-:]

I don't know when I'll be back in the area, but when I do I'll bring a camera. Can pictures be posted here on the board?

Mike: If you do get pictures of the boat, perhaps the best way would be to post a notice here so that those of us interested in seeing them could send you our E-mail addresses.

Could be one of the PTF boats from the 60's.

Reverend Bob is right. It's PTF 19, a Nasty Class boat built in Annapolis, MD for use in Viet Nam. Here's the link.
