Hello All,

I wrote my senior thesis a while back on PT boats and was wondering if anyone would like me to pass a copy along. The thesis is about PT boats and the role they played in winning the Pacific War. Anyone interested, email me at tim_reidy@hotmail.com

Happy Sailing!

Tim;
I would love to read your thesis. My father (Tom Falvey) was skipper of PT170 in 1943/44, and I am a college professor - so your work is of interest on both counts. Thank you! You can send it to Liz Falvey at 44 Osprey Cove Lane, Eliot, ME 03903.

Liz, it would be easiest to send the paper in an email attachment. Would that be a problem? If not please email me at tim_reidy@hotmail.com

Tim:

It is always such a pleasure when a young man such as you takes an active interest in PT Boats. I find WWII History a fasinating subject and love the History of the B-17 Bomber. Now, remember that my first passion is the PT Boats, Bases, and Tenders, but my love of Airplanes started at a young age ( about the same time as PT Boats ).

The thrill of a four engine B-17 in Flight is something to behold, but three Packard Marine Engines roaring across the Water really takes my breath away. Ok, so I am starting to wander a bit here, so let me get to the point. Your work I found was very interesting and well written. The subject matter outlined in your work has been done before, so there was nothing in the way of anything new.

I am not saying this to be critical, but when you have read as much on the boats as I have and others on this site, you cant help but say, OK SO I HAVE READ THIS BEFORE, give me something new. Now, remember that just about everything in print about the boats has been done several times before just in different wording. I too find it hard to dive into a new book because so much material has been covered in others work.

The work you have done is wonderful because those that no little about the boats can learn something new. It is people like you that have an interest at an early age that can develope your like of PT Boats into a passion where you can teach others. The name of the game is to never let others forget about WWII and the price that was paid for our Freedom. Men like the PT Boat Veterans can rest easy knowing that their work during the War will be passed on to future generations.

Keep up the good work young man. You have produced a nice Thesis that will certainly Educate others.
