Victor,

I hope you are well. You may want to contact Al Ross he was working on a set of plans of the Hellcat based on the Higgins original drawings. I have not seen any photogrpahs of the interior of this boat. It would be interesting to see of the New Orleans library has any in thier collection.

Victor;
The New Orleans Library has 15 blueprints of PT 564 HELLCAT. Included is one below decks arrangement blueprint.
Take care,

Vic,

Here are some of the drawings I've done on HELLCAT based on the original Higgins plans:

Higgins PT boats and not for Hellcat. Thanks

Hi Al,
Good to hear from you again. Your partial drawings of the Hellcat are
fantastic, The Earl K Long Library of University of New Orleans
emailed me "scan" drawings of deck plan and profile of Hellcat. They
are so bad that I cannot even read the lines, Very fuzzy. However,
if you think you can use them, I will send them to you.

For the Hellcat researchers, here's some of the plans from the LDL site Ted mentioned, most are 50 percent scale:

I love the library's website but wish the plans were viewable in a larger area size. The plans in the folder are stitched together already from 2000x2000 pixel chunks.

Hi Victor,
I can supply you with recent photos of the PT658 Engine room if that would be helpful. Also, if you look on our Photobucket account named "PTBOATS" I have placed a lot of B&W pics of the engine room in the album labeled "PT631 Builders Photos". Here is a link to that page http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p249/ptboats/PT631%20Higgins%20Builders%20Photos/
Maybe you can get some photos that will suit your needs there.

Here is a couple of photos from the photbucket site of PT631 Engineroom

Looking aft

Looking forward

Also Bill Maloney went to the Fall River Museum and went inside of the Higgins PT Boat there (PT 796), and posted about 20 pictures of the inside of her engineroom on his website. (Make sure you view both pages 1 and 2) Here is a link to it.

OK, so let me know if you want me to send you photos of the inside of PT658. Take care, Jerry PT658 crew

OK Victor,
If I cant find the old ones that I have, I will go and take some digital photos and post them here or send them to you via email. By the way, all of our PT Boat vets at Save the PT Boat Inc on board the PT658 have been using your excellent book as a reference to show to visitors. So anything we can do here to assist you in the future is a form of well deserved thanks to your efforts. We feel fortunate that you are interested in the Higgins 78 foot PT boats. Hopefully that may lead to another one of your wonderful books! Jerry

PS I may need to get your email address. If you want to email me, just look up my profile on this message board and get it from there.
