There seems to be some confusion about the type od powerplant used in the second PT 6 design by Higgins Industries. One source says they were 3 supercharged Vimelert engines, yet another book says they had Packard Diesel engines ( which I never even heard of before) Can anyone shed some light as to what engines were used on PT 6 (the second design) during Navy testing. PT 6 proved far superior to both PT 5 and the frst PT 6. As a matter of fact, what type engines were in PT 5 or the first PT 6.
