Most of the subjects I have seen (including my own) deal mainly with the camo style boats, or the Pacific green colors. I have yet to see one model (except T.Garth Connelly's Varney model) that show the 80 footer in her factory fresh paint scheme of 1942. Iam not sure why modelers choose not to show them in thier wonderful graceful lines of an uncluttered deck. I would love to see one in color to get a feel for the grey tones she carried. If any of you have a shot of one, please put it on the board. It hads been somtime since we have seen any progress photo's from some of you builders. Lets see some work, although I love the Elco Cradle just put up last week............

I painted the anti fouling red on the 109 boat and getting ready to paint the upper portions. I hope to have something for you soon. Also waiting on my laser guy to do my tribute base for this boat.
Dave

PS. Thanks for the compliment on the cradle. It looks great under the boat.

Frank,

I thought I remembered seeing a vintage color postcard of a "factory-fresh" 80' Elco at speed at sea (PT 117?) somewhere on the internet, although I couldn't find it on a quick Google image search...

I have several of the post cards, but even though it is color, it does not reflect the true color becaue of reprints and pixels. I was really looking to see how one looked on a model. I want to see the how the 2 grays match up from deck to hull.
