Hi Kendall,
I feel your pain! The Crash Boats are the last of the forgotten!
I can't get any info from the AirForce about our old Sea Scout boat the
ARB-R 37A-1357, built in 1954!
Our Navy number is C-3142, still no info!
But, Don't give up the ship! (or boat!)
Good Luck, Best for the Holidays,
Glenn

TO kstrehle + GLENN ANDERSON:
REGARDING THE 63-FT CRASH BOATS, THE BEST (AND PERHAPS ONLY) BOOK ON THE SUBJECT IS "CRASH BOAT" BY EARL A. McCANDLISH. IT'S AVAILBLE THROUGH THE PT BOATS, INC. BOOKSTORE. IT'S A GREAT, FIRST-PERSON ACCOUNT OF THE OPERATIONAL CAREER OF P-399 IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC IN WWII.

I ran across these:
Handbook of Instructions for AAF Rescue Boats 42-Foot April 1945. A manual for the use and maintenance of 42-foot AAF crash/rescue boats.
