» Topic: A Christmas Card to all my Message Board Friends
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=1106

I do a Christmas card every year for my friends in the PT world. This year my sphere of friends has grown due to the PT bulletin board so I thought I could cover more by posting it. Please enjoy.

I have been a dabbler in art for some 65 years. I used to be the guy who painted enemy kills icons on the bridge bulkheads of PT boats at the bases.(not because I was good, but because I had the only red paint in the area). After retirement I got more serious and do some 30-40 pictures a year. I combined my computer profession, my artistic talent (such as it is) and my PT experiences and produce PT art from a fast fading memory. If interested, you may see examples of my art on my website http://www.rpickett.com . My web has a temporary glitch on the home page, 'scuse it. Clicking on a thumbnail enlarges a picture, use back arrow to return. This instruction is missing on my home page.

Bob, I love it. It looks even better when it is enlarged. A special Christmas Card from a special guy. Thanks, and thanks to Dick for putting it up.

Right click on the card and when it says "save picture as..." select My Documents or wherever you want it. Note that to save file space and speed download, I have posted a low resolution version of the card. If you want to keep it for later use(I have no problem with that) I can send you a better file by email, or even a museum quality CD by US Mail.

Thanks for the email. It's not cold here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We have a mild winter. I did not serve at the bases you mentioned. I went from the solomons up the New Guinea coast to the Philippines. The Christmas card is one of my conventional paintings with Santa added for the season. Glad you liked it. If anyone wants the picture after Santa leaves, let me know
