Can anyone provide information about the USS KEAKUH?

Gretings fellow splinters and esteemed PT veterans,
My Dad, Yeoman 1st Class Edward Wang of Oak Park, Illinois, served in the MTBs and was based at Rendova, Vella Lavella, Munda and finally Samar, yet I still cannot find what RON or boat he was attached to. The Notice of Separation document I have from the Naval Personnel Service says that after MTBS training at Portsmouth, R.I. he went to USNRS at S. Key West, and then onto service aboard the USS KEAKUH.
Yet my Google searches seem to indicate that no such vessel existed. Can anyone please help me? Frank Andruss, have you any ideas sir?

Mr. Wang:
Look at his separation papers and see if it has the type listed near the name. It could be a troop ship or a Liberty Ship. If it is a Navy vessel, then it might have its designation listed, such as a MTB Tender would have AGP-* in front of her name.
I'll go through my sources to see I can find her. Please feel free to contact me.

I must admit that these large ships are not my expertise, but in looking thru my files, I cannot find anything about this ship. As you know the Navy had many types of ships during WWII form PT Tenders, Troop ships, Attack Transports, and Cargo Ships. This list is very extensive I am sure. Sometimes in the seperation papers it lists the type of ship in the Letter Code before the name such as APG, AG, AT, LSD, LST. You get the picture. Good luck in your quest.

I suspect it's a misspelling of KEOKUK (AKN-4). Go here:

and look under Auxilliaries. Scroll down to AKN and you'll find it.
