Whew . . . . finally.

This is the new PT Boats Message Board, hope all will enjoy. After many years and several disabling attacks by either spammers or hackers, I've purchased a commercial software message board and modified, designed and uploaded it to the website. As I have learned over the last couple of months message board have become favorite targets for both the spammer and hacker, regardless of software or hosting company. Hopefully this board will at least hamper, and/or slow them down, if not stop them.

There are many. many boards available, all with different degrees of complexity and options - in fact many can be quite daunting to navigate, unless you're a 12-year techno-junkie. My requirement for now was to find an easy to navigate and uncomplicated board that would fit in for the vets and older and less computer literate as well as the younger more technology orientated visitor.

This new board requires registration if you wish to participate and post comments. The registration is relatively simple and automatic. The registration allows filling out the degree of personal profile you wish to display or not. You can also select an image that will represent you. Your completed registration will be followed by an email, notifying you of your member password.

Once registered you can sign into the board and if you wish edit your "Profile" and change, update your data and issue your own friendly password. You can also upload your own custom small image or photo:

Please note that your image has to be in .gif or .jpg format and it has to be 70 pixels wide and 70 pixels in height. The maximum image size is 5 Kilobytes - Note that your image will not be accepted if it does not meet these requirements.

Well enough info for now . . .
Enjoy the new board!!!!

Hi Dick. Thanks for all of your hard work. I really missed the message board too. I also had done some research for a poster on the pre crash message board for the son of a former crewman on PT299 in Ron 16. If he posts again, I have that information for him. I hope to be in touch with all of you in the future through this fantastic website and message Board.

Take care,

Greetings to all, I'm resistant to change but since I only check in sporadically, that's what I get... the new format does look like it will be easier to search for my favorite postings-- those looking for research help on their loved ones' WWII service-- I need a project! And I miss all of the previous good info 'archived' in the old message board (websites, books, etc.)-- for example, the website where you can hear actual WWII PT Boat engine sounds. I'll be checking in, stay happy! Jonnie

I'm my father's daughter, honoring all WWII Veterans.
Love you Dad!
