4 the 1/32 & 1/35 Scales PT Boat Modellers

Hi there.
If you have either a 1/32 scale or especial;ly the Italeri 1/35 scale PT-596 kit and if you want to *REALLY* dress up those nicely molded .50 caliber maching guns you can buy - are you ready for it - 1/35 scale machined .50 caliber cartridges or spent casings with actual photo-etch links.
I have not yet been able to find out the cost of each 25 round set but here is the link to the review I found. If I find out the cost I'll let you know.

Well so much for that from me although those .50 caliber rounds and casings sure sounded like a good idea for my three boats.

PTB;
If you plan on making a diorama of a boat returning to base those spent shell casings are a nice touch, if not over done, but be careful with that idea. From a practical standpoint, they are just tripping hazards, I am sure the PT guys did the sametime we did returning from a mission, or gunnery exercise, scoop up the spent brass, get it off the deck, and throw it over the side. By the time they reached base, there was probably no spent brass to be seen on the boat anywhere.

I have several of those Mission Models .50 ammo sets and they are beautiful. Right now I'm getting near the end of my 1/35 build and I had intended to use the shells on my boat. After spending a LARGE amount of time putting together just a handful of shells I rethought the idea. I'm reasonably patient but putting together between 120 and 140 of these little buggers would just drive me bonkers. Instead I purchased four of the Collector's Brass .50 long ammo belts. The detail isn't as sharp as Mission Models' product but they are much cheaper and they require much less assembly. Well, in fact no assembly. I haven't fitted them to the model yet but I should be getting to them in the next couple of weeks.
