You have to be kidding...a real live Elco? Sure like to see an 80 footer but at this point of my searching the world over....well just about...a 77 footer will do. Just new to your forum...great site.. Thanks, ss

Just a note of interest about the cost of restoration. See the text on "WANTING TO BUY A P.T. BOAT ?" on this site, its about restoration cost back in 1985 with 1985 dollars.

Rob McCarthy had started a new build of a 103-series boat (Elco 80'), but had given up on it over a year ago. He had the keel and framing started, unbelievable showing for a man effort. On the west coast. Was looking for anyone to take over the project. He used to have a website with all his progress photos, but I don't think it's maintained anymore, and I don't know his email. He used to monitor this board, at least up to a year ago. |

I had tried to contact Rob a few months ago using that E mail address and it came back as undeliverable. I have no clue if he dropped the project, sold it, or still has whatever he built. He was going to send me photo's but never did.........

Frank, I think I still have photos of Rob's build. I'll look tonight when I get home and if I do, I'll send them to you. He had most of the framing complete when he gave up on the project.
