Sending them to me gives me the chance to enlarge them, fix them, or send them out for reprint.

The other ship looks like PG52 (apg1) USS Niagara PT Boat Tender. before the bow was cut of in 42 before it went to SP. Joe

HELLO ALL MY NEICES HUSBAND WAS ON THE USS LEARY, HE SAID THIS WAS NOT HIS SHIP.THE LEARY HAS A WEB SITE THAT SHOWS PHOTOS OF IT.MIGHT LIKE TO CHECK IT OUT FOR OTHER PHOTOS.I SENT HIM A COPY OF YOUR PHOTOS AND REMARKS. A WHILE AGO I9M CHECKED THE SITE OUT TO GIVE HIM A SURPRISE AND FOUND HIS NAME ON THE SHIPS ROSTER.HE WAS IN CHARGE OF THE ENGINE ROOM.

JUST TYPE IN USS LEARY(DD879) AND GO OR SEARCH.YOU GET A LOT OF VARIOUS SITES FOR THIS SHIP.

The USS LEARY DD-879 is the second Leary, a Gearing Class DD commissioned May 1945. The first LEARY, DD-158, was a WICKES class DD (four piper) that was sunk on Dec 24, 1943.
A friend of mines Dad was on the USS SCHENCK (DD-159), Leary's sister ship. The SCHENCK was with her on Dec 24, 1943 when they ran into a U-Boat Wolfpack that was after the USS CARD. I went to their joint Reunions for 10 years. Amazing stories from the surviors of the LEARY.
